B&B (B and B) Suspension sells accumulators for less. We are a small business specializing in active suspension accumulators for the Infiniti Q45a, the Lexus LX 470, and the Toyota Land Cruiser 100. We also service hydraulic components for Mercedes M-100 and Porsche 959 collector cars. My career of over 30 years as an engineer designing chemical refineries and the experience of personally maintaining my own Citroen and Mercedes hydraulic suspensions led me to starting my own business five years ago refurbishing accumulators for the Infiniti Q45a. Since that time I have completed more than 1000 units for the Infiniti.
During 2005,2006 and early 2007, B&B searched world wide for an alternative source of LX-470 accumulators. B&B decided to collaborate with a high quality manufacturer to design and produce a new accumulator to meet the requirements of the LX-470. This new and exclusive design, with a thicker diaphragm, is believed to be more durable than the OEM unit, and it can also be recharged again in the future. By dealing directly with the manufacturer, B&B can sell these improved accumulators for much lower prices than OEM dealer parts.
As an engineer, I know how much attention is necessary to maintain these complex designs. Because the nitrogen gas in an accumulator slowly leaks out (like air leaks out of your tires), the accumulators will loose the ability to dampen bumps causing the ride quality to suffer.
DO NOT REPLACE THE AHC SYSTEM on LX-470 or LC-100 VEHICLES with after-market springs and shocks! This is very dangerous. AHC includes an active stability control system. It automatically stiffens the shocks to greatly reduce body sway and substantially reduces roll-over potential during emergency conditions such as abrupt lane changes, tire blow-outs, dropping a wheel off the outside edge of the pavement,etc. Your insurance company may deny coverage of your 'modified vehicle'.
